Your Destiny is Found in Your Obedience

Just because you are cleaning bathrooms for two years does not mean you are not called to the nations.

Just because you are cleaning bathrooms for two years does not mean you are not called to the nations.

God is still working, even in the mundane and the exciting. Your destiny is found in your obedience. God doesn’t just work with those who have a certain title on their business card, but He allows people like me who don’t really have an office, but rather sit at home serving clients across the globe through creating stories that I run from my home (I am currently there as I type this).

Our hearts must be open to whatever God wants us to do next–no matter where he sends us or what it looks like.

Don’t let the inconvenience of where you were sent or are sent forfeit your global purpose and eternal destiny.

As a young man, John the Baptist was sent to a place of inconvenience. He was sent to the wilderness and had no nice facilities, no air conditioning, and very little food. Imagine what he would have thought if he knew his destiny was to be martyred while still in his early twenties! But it happened because he obeyed God.

Only a few years back, I had been sent to work multiple jobs being on a trash truck or even cleaning trash and bathrooms for years. It is easy to become discouraged about this task, God reminded me that just because I had been sent there didn’t mean that my purpose or destiny from Him had changed at all – it only gave me more opportunity to serve others there.

When you are scrubbing grout and the person saying hello to you is going on a mission trip overseas it could be discouraging, but do not ever let the place you are sent cost your purpose for the season you are in. In other words, don’t let your promotion seem like a demotion because your destiny is found in your obedience.

Your destiny is found in your obedience

In the Bible, we see that God has a plan for each one of our lives. He knows what is best for us and wants to bless us with a good future. In order to have this kind of life, it is important that we obey Him. Sometimes this can be difficult because obedience does not always come naturally to us as humans. However, if you begin to ask God for wisdom and guidance when you make decisions about your life then your obedience will start getting easier over time. You will also realize how much more fulfilling your life becomes, or the specific season you are in when you are obeying God’s commands rather than doing whatever feels right at the moment!
